ACES WEEKLY Volume 18, Week Two!
Some personal history to preface this week's introduction. When V For Vendetta was created for its initial publication some time ago, we knew the audience we wanted to reach with it. Of course our ambition was everyone. Every creator wants that. But, realistically, we had a target we hoped for. We aimed, we fired, and we scored - luckily. But, like all artists, we needed reassurance. Like lungs need air - we die without it. That reassurance came from the letters pages that were an essential element of that first comics magazine we appeared in. We were glad of those letters and their endorsement of us. And we were happy with the letters that were less positive for us as well, because they were useful feedback. These days, few print comics have letters pages, because they take up money-making advertising space that some publishers value more than their readers' viewpoints. At Aces Weekly we don't use advertising, and we have free space for letters from readers right here on THIS page! So, though this is not a new request from us to have your views expressed, it is new for us to offer a place for them here, in the body of the magazine. You are our readers and our subscribers, and this space belongs to you as much as it does to the contributors who entertain you every week . So, write right here to talk to us instead of at our blog or other places... Email us directly at [email protected] and your views will see the light of day here in this section. I'll answer any questions you raise - just as I do when you contact our Facebook page or blog - and, similarly, you'll have contact with our great team of creators. We're here for you as individual subscribers, and we want to hear from you as individual subscribers. So, go ahead... take advantage of all this non-advertising space... : )
Write us! Right here! Ask questions, talk to us all! And post to our blog, and see us over at facebook.com/acesweekly as ever!
