Welcome to ACES WEEKLY Volume 24, Week Five!

Our Managing Editor, Simon Russell, has just come back from The Lakes Comics Festival - so named because it takes place in England's famous Lake District.  This is an unusual comics event amongst the many I'm glad to say we now have in the UK, because it invites casual visitors to its attractions, not just those who already love comics.  The town the show presents itself in is a small one, so the organisers have no guarantee of a healthy minimal urban footfall through its various lures, and thus are brave in maintaining an open-doors policy when they could opt for a safer system.  I congratulate them on this, of course.  So many people in the unknowing general public have a restricted idea of what comics are, and can be, or are capable of, that any means of inviting them to see the true potential of the medium - made real in various forms of it - is fantastically valuable to the progress of comics in UK culture.  Go to The Lakes Comics Festival yourself next year if you can - and support the attitude to comics that you know we also have here at Aces Weekly, where we try to have all kinds of comics for all kinds of people!

Remember, we always want to hear from you. Ask questions, talk to us all, post to our blog, and see us over at facebook.com/acesweekly. Or send mail to [email protected] to see it right here, whatever you want to say!
