Welcome to ACES WEEKLY Volume 71, Week Five!

Friends, Just been reading an old post on Facebook from someone accepting the existence of AI art and its inevitable future use in commerce.  One of its key points was that to keep fighting against it was futile, because the economic tide was against doing that, which is an undeniable truth in the economics department.  But if an unfriendly economic tide was a good reason to cease any kind of fight, we'd have no small movies but just blockbusters ; no small pioneering tv shows ; and no small press.  At Aces Weekly we've never in our whole history faced a friendly economic tide in a world of comic readers who mostly seem to think that the paper a story is presented on is as important as the story itself.  But we're very lucky in having enough subscribers who think smarter than that, in just the same way that small movie makers find enough smart movie-goers who want more than the usual run of popcorn stuff ; and, similarly, the small press creators who can rely on their own particularly-discerning  readers for the work they do.  Having a hard time doing something you care about is never a reason to give up on it, it's the very opposite - the reason to keep fighting for it!  That's exactly what we do here at Aces Weekly, and always will - though it has to be said, we really have no idea how to do anything else... : )  Stay safe, everyone!
