Welcome to ACES WEEKLY Volume 72, Week Two!
Friends, Just been hearing from Amazon and other such outlets that trends are changing in the exclusive e-fiction sales market : some stuff losing its gloss after a swell, other stuff peaking. Here, I'm talking about prose fiction, of course, the written word in black and white, which has had no trouble in building an audience that doesn't care what it is reading on, only that it is reading what it has wanted to read by whatever convenient means is available. That audience has reached enormous levels after some scepticism that it would grow to anything like the level it's now achieved. An information and story-telling medium that had existed primarily on paper, has been transferred to another medium with much success and without any trouble. And why can't comics do the same unless it twists itself into another shape or form that denies the perfection of effect that it has developed over decades of its growth? Well, we have some rough ideas about answering that problem, and we're still trying to get them into shape. Meanwhile, here at Aces Weekly, we figure action speaks louder than words so we just do our stuff and leave the puzzle to be puzzled over in the back room. After all, however big the crowd is, the show must, and will, go on... : ) Stay safe in the cold, everyone!
